I've spent DAYS on this website and Google trying to find some DETAILED plans (measurements, material lists, etc) for a VERY simple chicken coop to hold 4 chickens. Seems everyone shows you what they have built, but no one gives blueprints and material lists.
I need something EXTREMELY easy to build. I'm an accountant, not a builder. The plans MUST be easy. I don't have a lot of room for this coop. Maybe 6' x 6' max. I also would like it to be 5' tall or less if at all possible. We live in a subdivision with very close neighbors on the sides and behind us. All of our back yard is surrounded by a 6' tall privacy fence so I would like to stay below that level.
We live in Michigan where winters can be cold, so I need to take that into account as well.
I have already built a 8' long x 30' wide x 3' high run that I was going to attach to a pre-fab coop that I purchased (but will be returning after I've been told it's WAY too small for 4 hens).
Please help if you can direct me to some links with very detailed plans, blueprints, etc, etc. I'd like to spend $200 or less on materials.
I have a jig saw, circular saw, miter saw, drill, neumatic brad nailer/stapler and a few other tools, but that doesn't mean I'm good with using any of them!
Also, if I built something like a 4 x 4 x 4 house, would it be ok to have it directly on the ground, or is that not going to be good in the cold of the winter when the ground freezes?
Thank you.
