Where did THAT come from?!? LOL

I have been studying the chicks in my brooder just to make sure everyone is healthy etc.....
Well, 2 days ago I notice a chick that just looks *different*. The more I look at this chick the more I think *that looks like a buff orp* now "scratching head very confused". I have 1 la fleche, few EE from my birds, ameraucana, 1 white lf cochin and 1 ss hamburg. So it took me 2 days to finally figure it out, it actually IS a buff orp

. It was sent to me with some other eggs as an *extra* and was the only one that hatched

. I so hope it is a girl so I can add her to the laying flock since I have no idea what to do with a buff orp roo

. So how many of you have looked into your brooder and said *where did THAT come from*?

lol i did just last night. we thought we had a black RIR, but it turns out she was a he, and that we have a black EE. lol

I wonder if this counts. My husband wants nothing to do with the chickens except he wants me to cook him fresh eggs and an occasional chicken dinner. So when I bought 10 Lav Ameraucanas he peeked in to see what I had and was a little annoyed that I bought 10 which was double our talked about 5.

Oops. So things were fine, I got a home set up for them once they were big enough and he'd come see them each day to see what I had going on. He didn't look very close though and I figured the interest would wear soon so I added in a cage with 5 banty brown leghorns. Wouldn't you know that the day I put them outside he decided to see them. Sure enough he counted and we have 15. He definitely was wondering, "Where did THAT come from?!?

The best part is, I had them in my "brooder room" which is a craft room when there are no chickens and it shares a door with our bedroom, he just never heard them in there. Oh, and the trip I took to go get them, he didn't want me to go due to work, ect but I went and brought them home.

LOL. Can't stop the addiction, I love it!
