Where did the 7th egg go???? FOUND IT!

My chicks hatched on tuesday. My Broody was sitting on 7 eggs. I only have 6 chicks. I havent found an unhatched egg? Would they have eated it? It was locked up with the mama and the rest of the chicks? Im so very confused.....

UPDATE---

Mystery solved! I didnt find the egg but I found the chick. It hatched, but i dont think it lived more than a day. It was buried under the shavings in the corner, it was uncovered by them scratching around. Sad but at least I know!

I went in one morning to get eggs, and there were none, but a lumpy black snake. Could one of those get in your cage??
