Where did those come from? [Pic heavy]

Was out feeding the chickens and I heard some chirping... checked on the one hen I knew we had, wasnt it... then I went on a search and found a hen hiding under an old mouse breeder rack and she had chicks!! Had to let them come out before we found out there were actually 6 chicks under there!!


Mom is a bantam but Im guessing these are not actually her chicks. A few appear to be americana cross I think [though Im no expert] But they are crosses cause our rooster is a black asterlourpe [sp?]

OHH. Their adorable. I dont think they are crosses. If they were crossed with a black they would probably be black. I have two roos a black cochin banty and a BO banty. The black roo breeds more hens because he is dominant and ive gotten out of 12 chicks 10 blacks, the other 2 are yellow and white. Guess the daddies LOL Oh and its had to be my black roo because he is one of two black chickens I have and the little pullet cant lay 12 eggs a day.

Oh well... thanks. They are cute arent they? Just hope they live now, we free range everyone. I tried keeping one of the other chicks weve had [we onloy had two prior to this] in a cage outside and it died, I think he cracked his beck pecking to get out. No one was taking care of him
