So, I hatched some "Australian Spotted" eggs...
Of the three that hatched, only one looks like your typical Spot. The others, well, lets just say that Mrs. Spotted has some explaining to do...
Rumor has it that a Cayuga/Blue Swedish guy was hanging around the joint. I can see the Cayuga genes clearly in the duck on the right, but the one on the left doesn't seem to have much to do with the markings of any of the three breeds in question. It looks brown in pictures, but I think of him as more greyish. With yellow wing tips. No bib or anything.
Think the Cayuga/Swede is that one's daddy, too?
Do Australian Spotteds ever look like this?
A bit washed out here... That's the black duck on the left, and the grey/brown one in the center. (Unidentified Welsh Harlequin back right.)
I'm mostly curious about the likely adult appearances of these guys - especially concerning size. The grey-brown one does seem to be outpacing the the other two, so I'm thinking probably not full-blooded Australian Spotted...
Would be just my luck to end up with two full-sized drakes and a bantam female.
