Where did you find someone who would dress chickens for you?

I'm new to raising chickens and I'd love to raise some broilers, but really not the type to kill and dress them. I've noticed on some posts that some people have found people who will do this for them for a modest fee. How did you find them?

Good question. I plan to raise meat chickens... some day and will need to have them processed. I have looked online for local organic farms and posted to CL and found a few potential sources that may help or could lead me in the right direction when I'm actually ready to do it.

I've never looked for someone to do that (and haven't done it myself either). Hope you find a reliable source to dress yours.

There are a number of options, what I consider best is using a licensed custom processor. You can search on the ATTRA site for custom processors, they used to maintain a fairly good list. Another place is the Featherman web-site. People who rent equipment will often be willing to do it for you. And then there's your local Ag extension office. They will generally maintain a list of local custom processors and what they process.
