Just wondering where everyone got their birds. I had a white and grey/black pigeon show up here for a while and they are kind of cool. I was thinking about getting some but have no idea where to look. I'd like people to post a pic of your birds and where you got them maybe even post the price you paid (if you want), so I can compare the sources to an extent. Thanks peeps.

I got all of mine from local breeders. Check craigslist and local papers. Also, slobber knocker loft and circus loft usually have a good rep. and nice birds. As well as others that I'm not familiar with, obviously. Try here too, http://www.pigeons.biz/forums/f10/.
BTW, I paid $50 for some of my pairs, $20 for others and have gotten several birds for free. It depends on a lot of variables, show and race winners, pedigrees, area, rarity and the list goes on and on....... I'm new to pigeons, but they're great, I hope you find some.

When we first were contemplating, I was looking at online sources but mostly they just had chicks. I was a little "iffy" about the shipping and raising of them, so we kind of put it on the back burner for a while. A couple weeks ago, I spotted an ad on Craigslist, for the breed I wanted, the number I wanted and they were already laying! They were $10 each, which is more than I'd have paid for chicks even with the shipping, but I didn't have to go to the trouble and expense of raising them...we had eggs the day after we brought 'em home. I love the girls and have no regrets :)

http://www.pigeons.biz/forums/album.php?albumid=2245 here are pics of most of my birds, in case your really interested in seeing some. most of the horseman pouters are worth $25 ea. one (the powder blue cock) about $50, the homers about $10 ea. the gaditano pouters maybe $40 for the pair, 'cause these aren't show birds, but they are gaditanos which are rare in these parts, the guy was asking $50. the german modenas, maybe $40-$50 for the pair, very rare and the birds aren't that bad either.

Oh, I gave $40 for the English pouter pair. the cocks fairly nice... and the hen Isn't bad either, I'll just have to wait and see what I get from them.
