I looked at Lowes and the only roles I found was 2" x 3" garden fencing. I looked on line on the Lowes and Home Depot website and couldn't find it either. I must be missing something....where did you all get your hardware mesh/cloth?

Hardware cloth. Lots of times you have to go to the store to get it because price will vary by location and where it was manufactured (i.e. China vs. US). I've not bought any as we've been lucky enough to salvage some from other sources. However, I have seen it at Tractor Supply Company, Atwoods, and Home Depot.

After being unable to get it at TSC or home improvement stores, I went to a local hardware store, Burdette's, and they had to order the 48" tall 1/2 inch mesh for me if I was willing to take the whole roll--which I did. I think it was one hundred feet, and it cost about $160. (Not sure about that--it's been a couple years. It might have been $260). TSC has the 36" height in 1/2 inch mesh, and I used that to cover my windows. My run posts are spaced 48" apart, and I ran the wire from roof to ground, so needed the 48" width.

Most don't carry anything over 36 inches tall. I got the heavier gauge. It's not fun to cut--wear heavy gloves no matter how hot the weather!

I got mine at both Home Depot and Lowes. It was limited qtys, but they both "stocked" all of it....I'm assuming you are looking for 1/2" hardware cloth, welded wire....up here they actually had a better selection then the local co-ops....but the Depot and Lowes both had rolls from 12" wide and 5' long, all the way up to 4' wide to 50' long. Wasn't cheap, but worth it...I used 4' wire buried a foot, and up 3', then 2"x4" wire above that to get to 7 foot for the run....

Keep looking, and from my experience Depot and Lowes will probably be your best options...but keep in mind it is coop building season...LOL....

check in the fencing section by the chain link.....

Good Luck.

Call some of your local "Steel" houses. I buy mine at Argus Steel in Richmond, VA. I bought 5 rolls at $154 a roll. 100 feet x 60" wide. Galvanized.
