I was named after my maternal grandmother, only her middle name is my first and her first name is my middle. Thank goodness cuz I hate my middle name.
Those that know it and try to use it get a look that could kill.

And Im not sure where she got my middle name. Its generic though.

My mom named me after a name from her favorite soap opera. I hate it. She gave me her middle name and it is even worse.

I'm not named after anyone but I did get my name because of a "deal". My parents each picked out names and couldn't agree so if I was 6 lbs 15 oz or under I was Angela Dawn. If I was 7 lbs or over I was Sharyn Lynn. My birth weight was 6 lbs 6 oz. Guess what my name is?!

I wasn't named after anyone. But DD's middle name is Elizabeth, after my best friend in college. And DS's middle name is Franklin, after Ben Franklin who is DS's 6th great grandfather. Or is it 7th? IDK, but all the male children have Franklin as part of the name on that side of the family.

My mother was a bit of a hippie and had 3 first names picked out. It was either Shasta, Shiloh or Sierra . . . Thanks to my aunt (who said the other two were "awful"), she went with Sierra Dawn. I have always loved my name . . .

Thanks, Mom (and Aunt Sally!)
