HI all...been looking around the forums and can't find an answer so I'll start a new thread.
Thinking about Guineas, especially with their propensity for eating bugs, especially TICKS...I got nailed by a tick 2 years ago and got Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever as a result...
So I really don't like them...that being said, my main concern is where do Guineas roost? My chicken coop is in an open bay barn that I sectioned off some years ago. I expect to let the Guineas free range and I'm concerned that they will want to roost on top of the two vehicles that I garage in two open bays of the barn.
I saw one post about a guinea roosting near a car but not on top.
I just don't want the vehicle scratched up as I take really good care of my cars...

Thoughts will be apperciatedl
Ron

If you are serious about having Guineas, then you should build a coop for them. Guineas , and the rest of your poultry will appreciate they have their own coop. They need a secure pace at night free from critters and if they roast in trees they won't live long. Guineas are excellent tick and other bug eaters but it doesn't happen overnite. Young Guineas will test your patience but once they have mated up and have the flock dynamics straighten out, they are pretty easy. Do your research, Guineas are not chickens.

My 6 month old Guinea Fools (that’s not a typo), roost on top of my chicken coop. We actually had to train them not to sleep in the coop as they beat up the chickens and stole all their food. They are hilariously stupid, they run at my car when I arrive home to attack it, then run away when I get out of the car, like every day!

My guineas only roost in their coop when they go back in for the night. Otherwise mine are out and about all day foraging and hopefully eating all of the ticks! I think it helps to have a coop or somewhere safe for them to go to roost. In my coop I didn't do anything fancy, just ran 1x6s 2x6s scattered all over and high enough off the ground. They seem pretty content with that lol.
I've seen some people get really creative and they'll use branches in the coop.
