I have been on here drooling over chickens and I have finally decided I want ALL Wyandottes. I have also found out I have 2 Columbian Wyandotte hens.

I need to find out more about showing Wyandottes, what is involved and so on. Is there an age limit on the people that can own and exhibit? Where can I find a good example of well bred show birds and poorly bred birds?

I also need to locate a couple really good Wyandotte producers to get some eggs or adults from. I am located in VA but willing to drive quite a distance for stock.

I am interested in a few color patterns. How many do I need in a flock of the same color or pattern...6 or 8 hens and a roo? Should I post this under another subject?

Thank you,
Alayne

Look into the splash strain/variety of Blue Laced Red Wyandottes. I think they are the most gorgeous.

www.feathersite.com has tons of great pics too.

I love my wyandottes. It's been rather hard to find some that look like a wyandotte should look and not like most of the hatchery ones do. I raise 3 color varieties: BLRW. SLW, and BBS. I don't show, so I can't help you out on that aspect.
