Where do you buy DE??

I checked at the tractor supply store and they don't carry it they say. I'm not sure how much shipping would cost on 50 lbs but it can't be pretty! Let me know where you guys pick up DE (food grade) Thanks much!

Well I also went to TSC today and got the crazy looks when I asked for DE. THey even called other TSC to see if anybody knew what I was talking about. I even got the whole I have had chickens and you don't know what your talking about speech blah blah blah. BUT to get to the point I talked to a lady that owns a pet store and she told me to go to my local co op.

I just ordered my food grade DE from Custom Milling. I checked around and they had the best prices with shipping that I found. For 50# I am paying about .98c/lb. Here are my notes, hope they may help someone (and I hope they're accurate!). Their shipping is two-day so that's pretty cool too.

Custom Milling is where I always buy my DE. Their customer Service is excellent and their prices are good. I ordered on a Wed. morning and recieved my order on Friday morning. 50 lbs was 45.56 total. And 50#'s of DE is a BIG bag.

Check out my food grade DE page. The bottom section is called "Where to Buy Food Grade DE". We get ours from a local dealer through Custom Milling, $20.00 for a 50# bag.

I don't happen to think the shipping from Custom Milling is atrocious at all. The shipping weight is 55 lbs and that big bag will last me probably the rest of the yr.
