Where do you buy DE??

I just learned today that there is a difference between FEED grade DE and FOOD grade DE???

Is this person wrong on this info? Fleet farm carries the FEED grade but he said it is NOT safe for human consumption. I called my health food store who often has things in bulk to see is she knew anything about this and she called her source where she gets her DE and they said yes...things used on humans should read FOOD grade rather then FEED grade. OH man...I"m learning more and more every day. I called custom milling and theirs IS FOOD grade and IS safe for human consumption where some of the other sites I have looked at are FEED grade. Whew I hope this is the last to look out for when it somes to DE! I have been calling and researching ALL day on this stuff lol!

Woohoo I finally found food grade DE. They didn't know it was food grade at first but I asked them if they would look on the bag for Food Grade Codex and sure enough it was it. Only about a 10 drive. It only cost me $.42 a lb. I was so happy. When the lady told me that they have the stuff you feed cattle that's when I asked them to check their bag. Good luck on your search.

I can't find it anywhere local either. I just ordered mine from Custom Milling -- they currently sell 25 lbs for $15.95, and 50 lbs for $23.95. They are here in GA so the shipping wasn't too bad, and just $5 more for the 50-lb bag, so that's what I ordered (total was $42.96). They said it wouldn't ship out until Monday, but that it should arrive Tuesday via UPS. Yay!

I buy mine from Golden Blend and it costs$20.00 for50 lbs,but Idon't have shipping since the man sells it at the flea market in Woodbury along with rare animal feed . marrie
