Where do you keep your boots?

I'm not sure where to post this. I was originally thinking of putting my chicken coop boots outside upside down next to the coop. I'm not sure how this will work as the weather gets colder. What we ended up doing was keeping chicken boots outside lined up on the patio attached to our house.

My daughter is now afraid to wear her chicken boots because there are spiders in there. So I'm looking for another solution. I did think we could keep them inside in a big rubbermaid container right inside the patio door, but I'm worried about contamination in the house. I would like to keep them outside, but "spider free". Personally, I don't care about spiders. I just put on the boots, but she is supposed to be taking care of the chickens.

How do you keep your boots to maintain good sanitation?

Thanks for any solutions to the boot problem.

Definitely don't keep them outside (spiders).

I keep my kids' dirty boots on a repurposed old Goodwill bookshelf just inside the door from the garage. I have them hose them off each time they go in the chicken pen before they come in.

They must remove them before coming into the house, of course. Even though they are wet when we put them on the shelf, it keeps the floor of the house clean.

My boots I keep in the garage since I am the chicken chore person and I am constantly wearing them every single day. I hose my boots off too before I come in the garage.

They do sell "boot trays" you can buy with a lip around it to keep the mud/water off your floor.

I leave my boots on the back porch 24/7 I did get stung by a wasp that was in one once but mine are on n off 8-10 times a day. My problem is they get cracks n splits after only a yr. I've bought boots from Walmart n TSC its all the same. I've not tried Muck boots they're too expensive to have them split after a yr.

I keep my coop shoes/boots just inside the back door.
But I am careful to check them before walking in for any 'fresh wet ones' so I don't track it into the house.
Am also careful about where I step if I have to walk into the 'zones'...... my birds are confined in runs and I can do a lot of maintenance from 'the outside'.
Also use foot wear without deep cleats, so they don't need to be 'picked' clean and can be wiped off in the grass if needed, this really helps.
Oh and I don't have kids to monitor, just me.

Some buddies of mine keep theirs stored on a rack, soles up, outside the door.

My boots tend to last a year also. I get the feed store ones that are $17 or so.

Our boots are outside the backdoor (covered porch). We leave them there year around. The way our entry is configured, there is no place to set them right inside the door.

I like the Garage idea but that won't work the way the garage is positioned from the coop. I think we'll end up keeping them inside the patio door in a rubbermaid tote because we have extra. I'm more likely to track dog poo in the house any way. With winter, we will really want to keep them inside where it's warm. It gets COLD here in WI!!!

On the 'honey do list' I hope to get soon. I have asked for a screened box for boots to set in the barn next to their indoor coop/run. I want a frame built... large enough for 2 pairs of boots with like 1x1 pieces of wood, a box with a hinged lid. The frame covered with screen. This way there is airflow to dry them if they are wet but the screen will keep spiders out.
