I've been trying to find a great coop to buy. I really really don't want to build one. I've looked on craigslist, ebay, amazon, etc. I found that on ebay.uk they have great coops, even walk in ones for pretty cheap with the exchange rate. I emailed a couple of places to see if they'll ship freight to the US, but does anyone know if there's US importer or place to buy them?

Eglus are great for small flocks. The price is quite reasonable when you consider how nice quality they are.

I think you're talking about the same type as on the Australian ebay site. But they're heaps cheaper here... usually they go for about $200AUD depending on the type.

I guess shipping to the US would be a killer though!

How many carpenters have you contacted in your area? Coops are very easy to build and go up very quickly for a professional.

NewHen, I think you can find a better build coop than those, ready made, in the U.S. The ones you are looking at run about $750 US. I bought one like this last summer for $730:

You may want to look at recent BYC posts on pre-fab coops and US made coops:

I know most BYC'ers say build your own. But I had limited time, supplies, and carpentry skills and buying one already made was definitely the best choice for me. I've been very happy with mine. Its very well built and easy to clean.
Good luck!
