where have all our feathers gone?

8 of my girls are 13 months old and the other 4 we are not sure of as we received them from someone who did not like doing the work involved.

Well, 13 months is a little young for molting, as the first adult molt usually takes place around 18 months. But it is possible that the 13-month-old hens are molting.

Another possibility that was already mentioned is feather picking. You should watch your chickens carefully to see if one or more chicken is pulling feathers out of the other chickens.

If one or two hens in the flock are in perfect plumage, these are the feather pluckers/eaters. If this is the case, outfitting the culprits with Pinless Peepers until the others regrow their feathers may solve the problem.

My little Americana has had a naked but, since last fall.I have dusted her and all my other hens.plus their coops and roost boards.they have excess to a dusting area.i also sprinkle sevin dust in that.they do get freeze dried meal worms twice daily.which they are suppose to have lots of protein.i don't know what else to do.

I wasn't sure if I should be laughing hysterically out-loud
