We gave around $2,000 an acre and I thought we could've done better. Goes to show you all of the diversity in the areas we live.

And that 10K is a tad low here, where I live. Another reason to take a closer look at where you are...

Oh no!!! I've been threatening to run away to GA! Savanah. Just to get out of the looonnngg cooollld winters in New England (well among other things

Your alternate universe. Perfect. You do have one, don't you? That's where I would move to. Planet Bobo is nice this time of year.

Well when the only source of water is a well that 3 homes share you can't irrigate for fear the well will run dry and there will be no water. There is the original well, but its dry.

GA has been in drought for 3 years. And the lakes have finally recovered this year.

My ultimate goal is to be self sufficient and off the grid. This would be very hard in Georgia. We won't be moving for a few years, just trying to start researching places.

Finding the land will come later. I really would like to find a place that has a stream or spring on the property. This could be used be used for irrigation if necessary.

NY has been pounded with rain the last 2 weeks as well. A lot of crops have already been lost. No body's made a bail of hay worth putting in the barn. I had to put planks down to get to my chicken coop. Flood or drought your choice. Just another day in paradise:D......I opened a fortune cooky last night, It said...." Our Life is a creation of our mind" ......So true!

How about living just north of you. We aren't usually as hot and dry as Flowery Branch. Rabun county is great too. Just remember that our weather patterns are changing and we are just about back to where we used to be. The almanac says this heat is the worst we will get all the rest of the summer and rain looks likely for Sat.

Hickman county TN, weather is great, winters are not bad and land goes for about 3000 and acre for the real good stuff. Lots of streams, creeks and springs. after all Bon Aqua, TN was known as a resort and the name means good water in french. I highly recommend middle TN. I moved here from UT and though the humidity is hard on me sometimes I wouldnt go anywhere else low property taxes, no state income tax, the sales taxes are 9% but with no income tax they have to get money somewhere and it stays local.
