To tell you the truth, I didn't really like the name before. It just didn't sound very nice. Kinda turned me off to ever ordering from there. I bet they'd get more business if they changed their name. Just my two cents...

Cowgirl71 is doing you a great service by quoting Storeys Guide to Raising Chickens. It is in my opinion the single greatest reference for raising chickens. You may encounter some things that arent covered in great detail but thats why you come here to BYC. The folks here are very helpful and kind. In general, Storeys guide will tell you everything you need to know.Pick up a copy. You will figure out which items you can tweek to fit your needs better.

Out of my 125 order I will raise 75 meaties to around 8-9 weeks in a 10x30 dog kennel. 2 10x10's stretched out partially wrapped with tarps and a roof over 10x10 section, they will get shifted around the yard a few times to help with the mess. They will probably move from the barn/brooder to this setup at about 2.5-3 weeks. I did the same in years past and have been very successfull so far. Just be willing to put in the work and you will be rewarded.
