I live in New England and I have found that the less expensive places to purchase Hardware cloth is online. Where do you think is the best deal(s) for hardware cloth? And do you prefer 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch? And yes I know shipping is a factor..

I only use 1/2 inch, it keep out anything I worry about and is slightly heavier wire.

My last purchases were at walmart.com, with free shipping. Also, look at amazon and ebay of course. It might be a good idea to look at local stores, you might be surprised, since so much of the cost of wire is around shipping such a heavy item. For ex, I can get 2x4 welded wire much cheaper at TSC than online. Not true for HW cloth, but worth investigating.

Yes, look at your local hardware store(s) for sure...I did. Found 1/2" hardware cloth, 36" wide x 100' roll for $124.99 at my local Ace Hardware store...woot!

I bought a 100' roll of 24" on walmart,com for $59 w/ free shipping to my door.

Not that it's not nice of you to support your local hardware store, because it is. Buying from Walmart, Amazon, or eBay makes me slightly uneasy . . .
But not enough to stop. Sort of like consuming white sugar, LOL.

I'd definitely look around your area. I found a manufacturer about 40 minutes from me, and they beat anything I can find online. I just got 100 ft of 48" 1/2 inch hardware cloth for less than $100.
