I found some 1/4 inch 19 gauge hardware cloth on sale, is that going to be sufficient for my run?
I'm seeing 1/2 inch is sufficient but the 1/4 inch is actually cheaper on sale. I'm not sure what the gauge needs to be though.

I wouldn't... that's my opinion.
Why?

My first time with chickens I built their coop and wrapped the run in 1/4". A coon ripped a hole in the center of a section and killed a pullet mid day. Was it a bad batch of HC? Don't know.

I've still got a ton of the 1/4" leftover I use for brooders and dividers (Look but no touch) integration stuff.
Everything else is wrapped in 1/2" now with windows reinforced with 2x4 fencing.

Normal 1/4" HC is 21 guage, 1/2" is 19. I/4" 19 will be stronger because more stands of wire. Double check that it actually is, if yes I would snag it. Be aware that 1/4" catches more dust, occasional brushing or blower will take clear it. If you don"t it will probably keep flies out.
