Of hardware cloth & weld wire & short cuts...

I use sulphur in my dust baths & in a mesh bag hung over the pop door, no issues thus far.

"Chickens are generally resistant to sulphur toxicity, with reported tolerance levels up to 14,000 ppm for broilers and 8,100 ppm for laying hens"

"Regular, moderate use in dust baths or as feed additives is typically safe, but excessive exposure or improper handling can lead to toxicosis or poisoning."
I'm sorry, I read through the thread trying to figure out the reason for using sulphur. I think I missed something. The reason for sulphur is to deter critters of any and all sizes?

Mites & lice I have read.

I got mites, not a trivial experience. I then went offensive to deter incl. Sulphur. Now several years, no more northern red mites.

Get with the program. We are discussing Sulphur not "DE".

I am careful, do not come to the party with pre-conceived. Sporadic use but have a highly functioning bioderm (ie coop & run) as a flock foundation. Sulphur is a cautious part of that.
