Two of my hens have been kept in a small coop at night (free range during the day) until I can integrate them with the other girls. I've left the door open for the last 2 nights because I don't want them stuck in the coop when I work odd hours. I live in the suburbs and there's no cats out at night here so there's no predator issue. I came home from work and they'd popped themselves in top of the coop. Just wondering if this is where they choose to sleep should I just leave them? Or should I get them back into the coop?

Are you in Oz?

I'd go out with a torch and pop them back in just to be safe. Maybe they aren't happy about the roosting places in the coop, but as you say it is only temporary.

Yeh NSW. I've popped them back in but they weren't happy with their relocation 🤭🤭 They're grumpy little ladies!

lol, so would you be if someone moved you in the middle of your sleep time 😂
