They seem like great chickens. Anyone know a good place for them? Just looking for 2 or 3, I would prefer hens only but am considering getting an incubator.

Getting excited for spring and to fill up my new big coop!

I have them. They're very nice birds, inquisitive and beautiful. If you only want hens to add diversity to your flock, then hatchery stock will do. But if you want "true and correct" stock, then you should get them from a private breeder.

Great, thanks! I do just want a few hens for a little diversity in my flock but like the idea of getting them from a local breeder if I can drive there.

Anyone else have good things to say about them?

HI ALL

My brother order Russian Orloffs from Ideal Hatchery last year and they look great. Next time I am over there I will take pictures and post them.

Just got off the phone with my brother and he has put in a order for more Russian Orloffs a few weeks ago.

Here is a link to Ideal Hatchery " Russian Orloffs "

Hi, I saw this thread from 10 years ago. Do you or anyone have any pictures of Orloffs purchased from either Welp or Ideal? thank you!

my orloff died this year. Her name was iris. everyone always noticed her. she really stood out in appearance but also she would peck at peoples pant legs. she was always easy to handle but her nails always had to be clipped. for some reason they grew like crazy! but she would let me do it. DEF one of my favorite hens. the first two years she laid very thin eggs sometimes almost no shell. but could not get rid of her and then weirdly at about 3 her eggs were totally fine. tons of personality. i got her from a feed store so not sure which hatchery they used. on my list of "wants" for sure. maybe 2021.....this year it is brabanter and delaware....also bantam cochins.
