I think I may have talked hubby into adding GF to our chicken flock this spring. He wants to do ducks but I really don't want to deal with the mess. We will be building an 8x8 shed/coop this spring with a very large dog run attached all enclosed. We will add to the run making it larger as they come up on craiglist for sale. I have been doing alot of reading on the GF and they seem like such a fun animal. But I am having a heck of a time finding eggs or even hatchlings. I know they usually don't lay until spring but I would like to order from a reputable dealer or farmer. Do any of you sell your eggs for hatching? Please let me know where to look TIA.

Ralph Winters at www.Guineafarm.com is also a good choice. Very knowledgeable and he sells eggs and keets. I never see a sold out for the season sign on his site. But I suspect it would be better to get hatching eggs this time of year.

Good luck.

You can also check your local Craigslist (if you see Guineas listed for sale, contact the person to see if they have any fertile eggs), or you can post a wanted ad for hatching eggs on there as well. Posting a wanted flyer at all the local feed stores might help too.

I'm kinda in the same place you are. I looked on eBay a few weeks ago and did get a couple of hits. I also looked at Guinea Farm. My ideal would be for a hen to go broody in the spring and raise them for me. A gal can dream.....

Otherwise, I might just get some keets during Chick Days this spring.

We live south of Greensburg, Indiana and I work in Greensburg a the Tractor Supply. I raise the Jumbo Pearl Guineas and I absolutely love my Guineas. They are prob. my favorite of all the birds I raise. I could definitely hatch some for you or even get you eggs to hatch. I have a few hens laying right now but I don't think the eggs are fertile yet bc it's not breeding season for them yet. They don't lay year round like a chicken. They have a season like Peafowl, Pheasant and Quail. Just let me know if you want me to help you out. I love hatching any egg. My husband is always scared i'm gonna start feeding him layer feed to see if he will lay an egg, lol. I hatched over 2,000 Bobwhite Quail last year, 20 pechicks, 16 geese, 60 guinea keets and countless bantam chicks, lol. I'm already gettin the fever to get the incubators up and runnin. Just let me know and i'll glady help u out.
