Where to find cardboard boxes?

Check out your local hospital(s). The one here has a huge bin out back that you can drive right up to. They even break them all down so you can load up a whole bunch if need be!!!

Yes. Dollar store will give them to you if you ask. Also Menard's - I pick out ones I like and then stand there waiting for some employee to come by. I always ask if it's alright but they have always said yes. I just go thru the checkout lane so they can see that nothing is in them.

Don't try Walmart. Ours had signs on boxes that if employees damaged them, they would have to pay. I was also told (by cashier) that they had to pay for their own ballpoint pens so customers could fill out/sign checks. I shop at Walmart alot but with all their cost cutting I don't see that their prices are appreciably lower than Target. Oh, Target will let you have boxes also.

P.S. The Postal service has warnings about using USPS priority boxes or other uses. It's okay (as far as I know) to repurpose - used priority boxes. If we abuse the priviledge, they'll end up charging for them.

OK i bummed one box, but I couldn't find a box anywhere. They knew what I was doing.

Most of mine go home in Otter Pop boxes. Between my grand daughter and the neighbors, I'm constantley filling up the freezer.

Try places like Staples too. They have lots of different sizes that their office supplies come in. I try to grab them up when the grocery stores set them out.

If we are gonna come clean, when I badly want a certain size box in the grocery I have even stocked the shelf so I could empty the box. I didn't hang around but I bet the employee was wondering when he did that.

Craft stores like Michaels sells them? You could probably get some paper grocery bags too, hole punch them for air, then staple them shut.

Call around at stores you know have product that comes in smaller boxes. Honestly, a lot of the time they happily give them away. Make sure if you say you're coming for them, that you do or they might not keep them around for you. Dollar store, JoAnn's, grocery store, etc. Yup. Put up an ad on craigslist for boxes

I admit I do use the usps occasionally for stuff but for chicks I also use...

Diaper boxes, I have tons of those... amazon.com boxes, I order stuff all the time, Shoe boxes ( they already have holes in them)

We do have a new dollar general that just opened, I am hoping to snag a big ol' box this morning for my new cochins and wyandotte bantams that are arriving in about 15 mins..
