Could anyone tell me where I can find a brooder thermometer? I have been searching around local feed stores and TSC's and can't seem to locate one. Chicks due in two weeks!

Thank you so much!

I have 3 cheapo thermometers from the local hardware store. You know the kind- white background, circular and with a spring on the back. I found they are accurate and did the trick. Remember it's the temperature on the shavings you need to know. Also, many here will tell you how to observe the chicks' behavior to judge if they are comfortable.

Huddling means too cold, edging out to the perimeter of the brooder means they are too hot...have fun!

I'm thrilled with mine, they are 2 weeks old.

Thanks Lynne, I didn't think of checking the hardware stores! The ones I was finding didn't go below 100 degrees.

I can't wait, 80 new babies to cuddle!
