I need to help chickens with coccidiosis and haven’t found a bird vet yet. Need suggestions where to get legitimate meds.

Your local Farm Store should have an Amprolium option or 2. Treat the whole flock, but if any are lethargic and more than a small amount of blood in stool, make sure you administer a decent dose asap to them. Other threads can tell you about dosages and methods. Good luck!

Get Corid (amprollium) at TSC or other feed store. Dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5-7 days as the only source of water, and change it daily. Can you describe symptoms and poop?

They have been on Corid for seven days today. Many of the poops are looking healthy now, but some are still runny with mucus. One hen in particular is concerning me. I believe she was the first to show signs and is not improving like others. I don’t see blood, but mostly mucus. She is active, but maybe less than she should be and continues to have a dirty behind even though I have washed it off. Her feet/legs continue to look paler than the other hen of the same breed. She may have lost some weight, but I don’t think any of them like the pellets I got them, so I’ve been factoring that with the slow food consumption. I did just buy the crumble they are used to eating and plan to give them what I know they like again. But for now, I think they all look a bit thinner due to a recent food change, which they don’t appear to like.

So, because the Corid isn’t doing the trick, I need to know what the next step will be and where I will be able to get the meds I need.
