Well my males apparently killed my female guinea, I took her to the vet today and she was COVERED in wounds. There’s NO way it was a predator. Apparently they’ve been fighting at night, where I didn’t know.

Now.. I have three males and want to find about 7-10 females to have a full healthy flock. Don’t mind adding a few males but I want more hens than males.

Does anyone know where I can find older guineas? Mine are about 3 months old now.

So I get keets and raise them and then release them with the others in 2 months ish? I just don’t know what to do.

http://www.guineafarm.com/ ?
or check on the fb page guinea fowl enthusiasts there are quite a few Texans on there that advertise some for sale.
Maybe someone here will have some? Also when I have some to sell i advertise at the local elevator so maybe check there?
Doesn’t look like they sell adults or juveniles.. I’ll have to look closer.

I’m one of the few who isn’t on Facebook at all anymore. Deleted my account two years ago and never looked back.

What’s the local elevator??

your local feed store.
check with MeyerHatchery.com it says that they sell juveniles,
[email protected] is Carl. he sells & ships from North Carolina.
I sent a pm to the gal in Elign TX that is selling (she has over 200) I'll send you her info when she gets back to me :) looks that that is the closet one to you that is advertising. (about 60 miles?)

I'm going to have around 40 keets (currently got 60 eggs being sat on and in the incubator) wish you were in WI cuz I'd let you have some if mine! I thought the eggs under my broody hen were duds so I put 39 in the incubator... Guess what? A baby under my broody hatched today

Ugh wish I was there too. I got 7 that were about 4 weeks old.. they seem to be holding their own.

Until today when I caught a bobcat stalking them.. 50 feet from me, in the field in the broad daylight. So I’ve spent the last 6.5 hours stalking him, seeing him 3 more times and not able to get a shot off (cows in the back of course) and trying to check check and double check that my pen is as predator proof as possible. I’m a nervous wreck and can’t sleep knowing they’re down there basically helpless. I just hope all 10 are there in the AM.

Oh my!! I hope you get the bobcat!
I know exactly how you feel, we have foxes, coyotes, and ridiculously high Coons around my area/property.
Just last week in broad daylight IN MY YARD at around noon I saw a gray fox staring at my guineas like they were lunch, just like you, it was maybe 50 ft away. I ran out of the coop and threw a rock at it, it didn't even realize I was there. Then right after a hen wouldn't come into the coop at night and I could never find her. I knew she was sitting on a nest and that it was dangerous for her to do so since the fox was around. I looked everywhere and couldn't find her or her nest. It only took 3 nights of her not coming into the coop for the fox to find her, again, right in my front yard :'( the next morning my husband saw the fox and it's pup in the same area when he was leaving for work. That fox will be getting lead poisoning the next time it's seen. Can't let my chickens or guineas out until it's gone since it likes to come around day or night :(

He got two Sunday night. He couldn’t get in the pen but there was a place he could get a paw through that I hadn’t noticed. Now that place is locked up like Fort Knox and nothing’s getting in. They’ve been safe for 2 nights now.
