Where to get Ruddy Ducks??

I was online last month and saw a picture of a beautiful male Ruddy Duck, I had never seen one before. I have been doing my reasearch lately, But I cannot find ANY hatchery or anyone who actually sells Ruddy ducks, as ducklings or adults.

Do any of you breed Ruddy's? Do you know of any websites with them for sale? I have other ducks, and I really would like to get some of this breed, They are beautiful!

I raise Ruddys and you really need to do your research on them. You will not find a hatchery that sells them, only real breeders.

What kind of ducks do you have? You can not put Ruddy's in with domestic ducks, they need at least three foot of water because they are divers and they have to have gentle slopes to get in and our of the water. The do require a federal permit and their babies are really hard to raise and they don't until their second or third year. I have had about 8 born this year and only 3 so far are doing well and they are only a week old. Also you are looking at $200 a pair.

let me know if you have any more questions. They are my favorite duck and always have been. I saw them at Seaworld when I was about 8 and said I would have them one day and now I have 10 pair.
