I have 2 pet male ducks. Got them as ducklings and both turned out to be males. I used to have 3 but the one died before I knew the gender. I have one bigger male and one smaller male who is not all there in the head. The bigger one is now constantly grabbing on the small one’s neck and tries climbing on top and drowning him in water to mate. I can’t get any more ducks and didn’t really want to get rid of them. What else can I do to stop him? I’m afraid he will end up killing the little one. This is my first year having them as adult males

Normally separating causes anxiety and such things in ducks
especially, but you could try to get the girl pregnant then the drake should calm down a tad.
Uh. Do you know anything about birds in general?
1. Birds don't get pregnant.
2. There are two males.

Hi.

I have one bigger male and one smaller male who is not all there in the head.

What do you mean by "who is not all there in the head"?

The bigger one is now constantly grabbing on the small one’s neck and tries climbing on top and drowning him in water to mate

What else can I do to stop him? I’m afraid he will end up killing the little one. This is my first year having them as adult males

Huh... younger drakes are the worst : their libido can be so out of control during their first mating season that you really need to be careful with them... otherwise, they can kill their friends - including the girls.

(I just had to give my favorite Khaki Campbell away because he assaulted some of my other drakes... but ONLY the ones he grew up with, and were his best friends before mating season!
...My beautiful Cayuga drakes are now ugly, because my KC had decided to pluck their neck feathers... and had I not got rid of him, I'm pretty sure he would have eventually killed the other drakes...)

Can you separate your drakes - until the end of mating season?
So they can see each other, but not touch each other?

I can’t get any more ducks and didn’t really want to get rid of them.

Why can't you get more ducks? Is there a specific reason?

The term is "broody", and you can't just get a bird to go broody.
Not only that but a determined drake does not care if a duck is broody. He will knock her off the nest or mount her on the nest if he takes a notion to.

All is irrelevant to this thread anyway since the thread is about TWO DRAKES. 😅
