Where to install automatic coop door?

Like the title says. I have two potential locations. This is my coop setup (inherited from previous home owners):

Inside the covered run area:

I can either put the automatic door in the covered run, or cut and install it in the bottom metal portion of the glass door. I’m leaning towards the covered run location. Any reason why I should instead put it in the glass door?

I'd put it in the covered run. They'll go out into the covered run in inclement weather.

There is that! Always worth considering.

Give it as much protection from the elements as you can. Some of them get a little wonky over time if not covered.

It ain’t pretty, but works beautifully. After one day of getting used to going in and coming out of that opening without the door the automatic door went in. Came home from work last night to them all in the coop, and this morning they were all out. Lovely.

Might adjust the time settings so it stays open less while it’s actually dark out (last night had it set to 9:30pm), but I’m already VERY pleased with it.
