where to locate the feeder and water supply

It will not matter, as long as they can get to it.

Considerations to think about when locateing:

Will end up staying inside/not out where food and water is?

If keeping food outside is it protected from weather?

For what its worth I keep food inside out of the weather, and have water inside and out.

My preference is that my birds spend as much time outside as possible. This way, there's less to clean up inside the coop. My coop, however, is elevated on stilts sort of, so I have a good-sized area underneath it to put my feed and water, keeping it out of the weather, and cool during summer.

In the winter, I do leave the food/water inside, because they often stay inside for weeks at a time in the cold Michigan winter season.

I have food and water inside the coop. I also keep 2 water pans outside for them, 1 in the run and the other in the yard, because they spend a good part of the day in the run or free-ranging.

It's a matter of personal preference. I keep food and water in the coop they go in when hungry or thirsty. But we give treats out side easier to clean up the uneaten rinds and stuff.

Same here....food and water inside the coop. I have always been told that helps to make them realize its HOME and that is where the supplies are so they wont feel so prone to stay outside at night etc. It also keeps the water cleaner and the food is elevated.

However, that being said, we do have an extra waterer for outside in case of extreme heat so they have an additional water source.

Treats are outside tho, unless its winter or bad weather. Then they get treats inside for keeping them occupied and not bored.

So far i've kept both the food and water outside in the run. I have had to cover a portion of the run mesh with scraps of wood lately though to shelter the pellets (in a feeder) from the heavy rain we have had in Ireland lately and will probably leave it this way. I like to encourage them out of their house so typically close the door of the house so they are forced to stay outside in the sheltered run or free ranging on the lawn. Maybe in the colder winter i will move inside.
