I'm in the planning stages of building a new coop, I posted a thread about it with sketchup pics of what is will look like. I'd like to know a good place to order hardware cloth from to cover the cattle panels with. I can get it locally at either of the big box home improvement stores. I would like to know if anyone here has found a place to order online, and if you were satisfied with your experience with the order....

anyone?

Our local feed store has better prices on hardware cloth than any of the big box hardware stores.

When I couldn't find what I needed at the feed store, I was quite happy with an order of 1/2" hardware cloth, 3' x 50', that I purchased on Amazon (prime).

thank you ma'am, don't know why I didn't think of amazon! just checked on there and I can $80 cheaper than at the big box store. Looking for some water nipples to order as well, and anything else I can think of I need while I'm ordering over $35 and get the free shipping, HA

We bought our 1/2" hardware cloth from a local fencing company, found them by Google "1/2" hardware cloth, State". Turned out to be cheaper than all other local home improvement centers or mail order vendors.

I always check Amazon, eBay, and Walmart.com before placing a HW cloth order. Different sites have price advantages at different time.

I know waaaayyyy more about buying wire than any one man should.

I found the best deal at my local small rural town Ace Hardware...$110 for a 100' x 48"..no shipping charge as it came in on their regular weekly order.

ok as a follow up, I checked the local ace hardware, they had a roll in stock, $219. Home Depot only sells it in 25' rolls @ $57.67 per roll. 4 of them plus tax is almost $250. I looked it up on amazon.com and found a roll for $161. since the order's over $35, free shipping. Had a short list of smaller things I needed to order, so I added them to the order in able to take advantage of the free shipping. It will all be here next week.

I'm picking up the lumber to get started on the coop tomorrow, it will take me a week or so, since the chicks are just 2 weeks old, I have time

WOW...I thought he probably cut me a bit of a deal as I'm a long time loyal customer....but not half....steel prices must have skyrocketed since summer 2013.
