Do I have to put my chicks feed outside? I have it in a hanging feeder inside their coop but do they also need a feeder in the run area for them? Currently their hanging feeder is inside the coop and then this morning I put their small brooder feeder inside the run. I have a large waterer in the run but put the small chick one inside the coop at night. Is this correct? I just moved them outside this week and want to make sure they are going to be fine. I was worried about temp last night but when I opened the coop this morning the hanging thermometer said it was 65 in there. I was worried for nothing and the chicks were very happy when I opened their door to the run even though it was only 40 outside. Also will chicks automatically eat the grit they need? I put some into a bowl and they keep spilling it so now I just throw a little onto the ground in their run area and they can peck it up as they need it. Is this ok? Thank you for any answers you can give a chicken newbie.
