where to put feeders

Do you put the feeders in the coop or out in the run area.? Or both

I have a 2 floor coop no runs to another area and i put the food and water on the bottom floor on eye hangers so they dont dirty up the water to much raise it off the ground 2-3 feet . High enough for them to reach but not to low to where they can kick dirt or there bedding into the food and water
