Our 1 month old chicks are now in the coop full time. For now, the waterer and feeder are inside the coop, but I was wondering if when we let them out into the run after they've acclimated to the coop, should the feed and waterer be out there? I'm just not clear on this. Where should they be placed permanently?

Thanks...

I have the water outside in the run hanging on a hook to keep the chickies from kicking up dirt into it. The food is on a little shelf my dh built under the coop to keep it from getting wet if it rains.

Check out my page for pics, in the photos the water is on the ground - now hanging - that was a learning curve!

Why do you need to keep the chickens out of the nesting boxes at night?
