Last night as I was grilling dinner I heard my hens squawk, only to look up and see a fox not 10' from their run. By the time I got back outside with a gun he was 100 yards off already.
So, figuring he probably wised up some and won't come around when I'm ready for him, I'd like to set up a havahart trap for him. Do you think the tall grass by the creek he disappeared into would be a good spot? Or..... how about near the coop? I'm thinking the coop would be a good idea because he will already be drawn there from the hens. I don''t necessarily want to attract predators to the coop, but I'm thinking he's likely to return there and maybe he'll be more interested in the bait rather than the hens.
What do you think?
Thanks
Fred
