Where'd this brown egg come from?

Well I think the mystery is mostly solved. The extra brown egg must have come from one of the EE's (I think it's from Pickles but not sure). It was definitely brown, in fact darker than those of the BR's. Our second EE Buffy just finally started laying, and hers are a light grayish-green. So YAY! I have one green egg-layer, and three browns. In the end it doesn't really matter, since they all taste good and the hens are all pretty sweet, but now my inner two-year-old is satisfied too!

Usually my birds lay an egg every day and skip a day now and then. I have RIR's. Once I had a hen lay two eggs in one day. One of my girl’s likely layed one egg in the early morning and again in the evening. That day all of my girls layed an egg and I had one extra egg. I collect the eggs every day and feel around in the nest boxes as they have tried to hide them under the Spanish moss I use in the nest boxes. One evening when I collected the eggs there was one extra egg. I had 16 chickens and 17 eggs. I have had soft shelled eggs especially when the girls were pullets.
