We have had a lot of trouble getting live healthy chicks delivered. My first ones were 5 days in the mail.....replacements were wrong breed (Hamburgs) and a week earlier then stated and 4 days in the mail. The second batch of replacements arrived on time, and only 3 days in the mail and healthy..

I keep waiting for my Golden Lakenvelders to turn Golden.
Here is what the first ones all look like now:

Do I call Welp hatcheries again....sigh..... or just give up because I waited so long to decide they just are not what we ordered?

Well.....I called Welp and looked hard at the replacements. The replacement chicks do have gold.
So......out of 3 shipments I received the incorrect breed twice....

I might finally get my Golden Lakenvelders at the end of June.

Anyone want some nice young Silver Lakenvelders?

Sorry that happened to you, but if I were you I would order from IDEAL POULTRY. I never have and doubt I ever will hear a bad thing about them, and their cheap and have great customer service. They actually care about your satisfaction.

I have 3 soon to be roos and the rest are pullets.
I am a long ways from Joliet but sometime in the near future I need to drive north of there to empty out my friends storage unit.

I was getting set up for 2-4 breeds of chickens. With this many Silver Lakenvelders and the Gold ones coming I am out of room before the chicken house is even built!

If you still need to unload a pullet or too when you're coming up north, I
d take some! If you aren't coming this far, I can even meet you between here and where you are. Let me know!
