About 2 hours ago I turned off my cabinet incubator. Have just finished giving it a good cleaning and it feels good not to have it on. It has been on since early February! I've got about 40 white Muscovys that just hatched and I am DONE. I've hatched over 200 this year, pinioned each and every one and only lost one or two after they hatched. Not too shabby. My hatching incubator is also cleaned and put away.
Of course the ducks are still laying, but now none will go in my incubator for the rest of the year. No more worrying about incubation and hatching issues, no more helping some stubborn ones hatch, no more of the wife complaining because they are in the house for the first week! That is the main relief. Gotta keep mama happy.
Now on to other problems, like bobcats, raccoons, possums, hawks, feral cats, snakes and two legged predators.
