Which breed and boy or girl?

Meet Sugar, 8 weeks old. Got her name because she is super sweet! Is she an Australorp or Jersey Giant? Pullet or cockerel?

If the bottoms of it's feet are yellow its a JG and if pink/white it's an Australorp. And with that reddish comb I'm thinking roo at 8 weeks... But other than that it doesn't look very masculine

That is not a pronounced comb for 8 weeks...nor very red....I think you are still safe to think pullet.

As to JG or Australorp...I agree look at the bottom of the feet...also size will be an indicator...your JG should be noticeably bigger at that age than your other chickens.

Sugar is our biggest chick, bigger than our EE cockerel same age. The bottom of the feet are sort of a peach color. I also don't think the comb is red or very big compared to some of my other chicks but they're all different breeds so hard to compare.

With peach (pinkish) feet bottoms rather than yellow feet bottoms, Sugar is a Black Australorp. I'm thinking pullet at this point, but I would keep a close eye on that comb. If it reddens up over the next few weeks, you have a cockerel.
