Which breed do you think is most affectionate?

We have a golden and black sex-link and they are way friendlier than the RIR, Barred Rock, or Buff Cochin Bantam. They both are easy to catch and seem to like hanging out near us, plus, don't have to worry about surprise roos with sex-links.

My chicks are just four weeks old, but already, the Barred Rock has adopted me. As soon as my hand goes into the brooder, she's on it. The Buff Orpington is Sweet Sweet Sweet. I pick her up, and she snuggles. What a love. The SLW likes to be held, and will occasionally jump up on me like the BR. The New Hampshire is only interested in FOOD. What a complainer .. which complaints get louder if I DARE pick her up. The Light Brahma is a trip. She's shy, but getting bolder (will approach me now) and once I've caught her, appears to enjoy being held and stroked.

My husband and I are both new to chickens, and we've both been marveling at the range of personalities.

Last year we had a white americana who totally bonded with our black lab. She wasn't easy to catch, but she was very friendly. This year one of our americana chicks was injured and therefor raised in the house. She is totally attached to me. She requires a "nap with snuggling" every afternoon and does not sleep well, unless she gets to snuggle for at least 20 minutes. She sleeps on a stuffed bear on a pillow on my bed!!!. If she has had an eventfull day, she insists on physical contact with me at night.
From the flock, our buff orpington likes to jump up on our laps, the phoenix (pullet, hen and roo) like being held once they are caught, the rhode island reds (2) like it sometimes and not at others.

Probably my sweetest adult chicken I have is my Silkie rooster. He loves to be pet and I carry him around like a football. Most everyone else just follows me around the yard, takes food from my hand, but would rather not be held.

For my babies, my EE Whisper is by far the sweetest and will jump up in my lap to be pet. Hiro, my Silkie/Phoenix X is a close second.
