I wanted to ask which breed would be best for me. The ones available in my area are Ameraucana, silky, and frizzle chickens. I use to have 1 brown laying hen for 4 years but Lucy just recently passed away due to old age. I would put her outside in the morning and she would do her thing all day in the fenced in yard (she would even leave sometimes but always came back by herself) then at night she would come and sit on the balcony on the porch then I would bring her in and she would sleep in a shallow box with a blanket. Which out of the above breeds would do best in a situation like Lucy was in?
