Oh figured you were home if you just went and took measurements?

Our coop was pre-built so we could find the dimensions on the website we got it from. We created the plans for our run, and we just remembered the dimensions because it took a lot of planning. :)

I have to agree that adding a single bird is rough at best.

All the EE's that I have had were rather mean to their flockmates. Especially once they started laying.
Every BO that I have had have been mellow and sweet girls.

I would not ever add a single bird to a group. It is just asking for trouble.

I see where you are coming from. However, our EEs have always been sweet. I know they are still young, but I don't feel like the are going to have a total 180 personality-wise. I have a friend with EEs at laying age, and they are very sweet birds. Thank you very much for your input! We are working with the owner of the farm to figure out the best option for us. I will keep everyone posted! :) Thanks again!

Coop: 63'' (L) 41'' (W) 50'' (H)

Run: 13' x 6'

You could post web link for a pic.
Do those dimensions include a built in run and nests?
Chances are....you are tight on space with the 5 birds you already have.
Integrating new birds takes extra space.

BO are super friendly, but i love the personalities of my barred rocks.. they are intelligent and want to socialize with people.. they each have their own quirks and likes.. never had a problem with any pecking or even being shy..

Your birds are sweet because they all have a pecking order worked out and they grew up together.

A new bird will be seen as an intruder into the territory. They will either try to defend their territory or they will abandon the territory. If they can't leave because of being confined things could get bloody. The new bird will choose either option too. It's not about being nice, it's about instincts and natural behaviors.
