Post a picture of your favorite breed and why you like that breed. Be convincing! Include things such as temperment, how many eggs they lay, backstory, etc.

I have a few favorite breeds and the stunning Buff Orpington is one of them. They are fluffy and have such fluffy bottoms! They have such a docile and great personality about them. They are such sweethearts and goof balls all in one! They lay around 6 eggs, of a light and beautiful brown coloring, a week . If you are looking for a family friendly breed, this is the biggest go-to breed. You will even find the roosters to be shockingly pleasant to be around. This breed is a fantastic mother as well and they love to hatch you some adorable chicks! If you so happen find yourself buying some untamed Buff Orpington chicks, then you should find it easy to tame them right up if you work with them. The BO is a gorgeous bird and on top of that the full package! When you buy a Buff Orpington- You are buying an incubator, a family pet, a meat bird, a egg laying machine and a friend!

Appenzeller Spitzhauben.

They have an excellent personality with humans, chickens, and chicks.

They have kept their girls in perfect shape even when I had 2 males over 4 girls.

When an older chick hopped into the newly hatched chick box, he didn't hurt them or peck at them at all... he just looked around, drank their water and hopped out.

When my half grown chicks escaped their cage into the grown chicken coop the grown chickens didn't hurt them.

They also lay pretty well, medium white eggs, and look great.

Also... perfect in the cold with clean feet and tiny combs and wattles.

Dominiques are also great.

They lay a little better that the spitz with slightly larger eggs. Their eggs are a soft pinkish brown. I have also had good luck with their personalities, they are still normal chickens though... not as laid back as the spitz.

Ooh... Never heard of them. They seem pretty cool! I'll have to check into them some time.
