I'm kinda of lost of what I am losing lol. I'm pretty fine with the chickens I have right now. I don't need a rooster like that with my flock.

Eh not for me. I don't need a rooster like that around my hens. I prefer a smaller breed. One that can actually fly.

I use to raise one for a year. I know that it can't fly as well as a leghorn rooster or bantam rooster.

I will say such birds are not on the high end when it comes to flying abilities among chickens. They can out perform silkies, cornish x, and likely most dual purpose breeds when it comes to flight but after that no.

American Gamefowl are my preference, both for hens and roosters. I couldnt imagine any breed being better than Americans for protecting and just general survival.

They have size, strength, speed and great fly abilities. They may not be the best in all those traits, but they are pretty close to second place for each one, making them great general purpose free rangers. The hens will fight hawks, dogs and just about anything to protect their chicks.
