Well, the way you worded your statement kind of implied humidity was a thing exclusive to southern areas. But I stand corrected

It's really just the lack of empathy over our different situation which made me say "northerners"
They tend to see our -12°F and laugh while waving their -60°F in our faces.
I'm not saying y'all don't have humidity, and you certainly have it worse in the winter months
We just aren't prepared for that kind of thing, and our humidity is constant.

If i made it sound like I was making fun of people dying, I sincerely apologize. I would never consider death a joking matter.

I'm a bit surprised that it was such a disaster situation simply because hurricanes are already a thing for costal Texas. Yes, different kind of weather of course, but some similarities. Power outages, lack of supplies, being stranded, etc. Or am I waaay off course?

I'm actually ashamed to say that we generally aren't prepared for those either
