I have my son a little copperhead as a pet when he was 3 to piss his mom off

I tried to keep a black widow. Something about toddlers and the spider was rehomed to a field far, far away.

I really did give him one but I put it in an empty plastic peanut butter jar with the lid on tight and he could look at it supervised. Only for 3 days because she was being a biotch as usual and wouldn’t let him have a pet snake and he was crazy about them at the time.

Then I took it and killed it. Layed the jar down on the ground outside in the carport like it had fell off the shelf and busted open.

We were eating dinner a couple nights later and in his 3 year old voice said he had been thinking and he believed someone had actually got his snake out and cut its head off instead of it escaping.

I said son, you are a very smart boy. You are probably right
