We got our firewood for the winter. Two cords worth, actual firewood is $450 a cord so we went this route

We always just went to the woods and cut a tree(s) down, then split it with an axe. Warms you 3 times.

Except, we don't own woods, that wood wouldn't be dry for this season, and this was easier

We are blessed that we have options. There are several people near us that sell wood, but we also have acres of trees to choose from if we ever needed to. My husband was planning to cut our own last year but he did the math and it makes more sense for him to work and pay someone to bring wood to us instead of him spending all that time to cut it and stack at himself.

Yeah, lots of people by us sell wood. There are lots of woods and forest by us, we just don't own any. But people wanted $450 a cord!

Exactly. And when you asked them why they are charging so much more than last year, their response is bull "The price of everything has gone up" You cut and split it yourselves, that has nothing to do with inflation!

It does in the sense that everything they are trying to pay for costs more, so they're trying to make up for it by charging all their customers more.
