Sweet potato casserole is a super common Thanksgiving dish in the states. A nice sweet hit to complement all the savory on the table. When I was a kid it was a favorite, now it's more tradition, my palate has changed over time.

I tend to like it better without now as well. There's still plenty of carmelized sugars in the sweet potato by itself.
